
Knowth
The passage tombs of Knowth are located in Brú na Bóinne in the Boyne Valley, one of the most important prehistoric landscapes in the world. The tombs of Newgrange and Dowth are located in the immediate vicinity. Since 1993 these ancient tombs belong to the UNESCO world cultural heritage.
In the large burial mound of Knowth there are two passage graves and around them are several smaller mounds with satellite graves. More than 200 ornate stones have been found in the tomb of Knowth. It is the largest collection of megalithic art in Europe.
Knowth can be visited all year round on a guided tour. Starting point is the Brú na Bóinne Visitor Visitor Centre.
