Dark Hedges
The Dark Hedges are an avenue of gnarled, old beeches. Among the trees planted in 1775, there is a unique atmosphere, especially in the evening in the golden yellow light of the setting sun.
The popular photo motif recently received a tremendous boost in popularity after the avenue was seen as the ” Kings Road” in the Fanatasy series “Game of Thrones”. The flip side of the coin: Since then, there has been so much traffic that the road had to be closed in order to avoid further endangering the existence of the ancient trees.
