Titanic Belfast

Titanic Belfast

To mark the 100th anniversary of the fateful maiden voyage of the Titanic, a maritime museum that sets real standards opened in the docks of Belfast in 2012. The Titanic Belfast, as it is officially called, is an architectural masterpiece and within a very short time had become the landmark of Northern Ireland’s capital. Like a ship’s bow, the faรงade rises 38 metres on all four sides (as high was the Titanic’s outer hull). A visit to the Titanic Quarter is particularly impressive in the evening hours, when the faรงade is illuminated by a fascinating change of colour.

Visitors to the museum can expect an impressive presentation of the history of the world’s most famous passenger ship. From the planning to the disaster, every detail is illuminated and many myths and legends surrounding the Titanic can also be explored.

Incidentally, the location of the Titanic Belfast was also chosen with great consideration. It is only a stone’s throw away from the dock of the Harland & Wolff shipyard from which the Titanic was once launched.
