Scrabo Tower

Scrabo Tower

Visible from afar, the Scrabo Tower sits prominently on a hill near Newtownards. Unfortunately, the tower, built in 1857, is currently not open to visitors, but nevertheless it is worth visiting Scrabo Hill. From here you have a fantastic view over Strangford Lough and the northern Ards Peninsula. The tower itself, amidst wonderfully fragrant gorse hedges, is also a real eye-catcher.
