Mount Stewart House & Gardens

Mount Stewart House and Gardens

The manor house, built in the 18th century, is especially known for its beautifully landscaped gardens and the octagonal “Temple of Winds” – a building modelled on the “Tower of the Winds” in Athens. The gardens of the property benefit from the mild climate at Strangford Lough and sometimes have a Mediterranean feel. Statues of animals or mythical creatures have been placed in several locations, giving the gardens something magical.
