Donaghadee Lighthouse

Donaghadee Lighthouse

The impressive lighthouse at the entrance to Donaghadee harbour was the first Irish lighthouse to be converted to electric operation. For a long time, the port of “Dee”, as the locals call the town, was the most important contact point for boats in the region. Only with the increasing development of Belfast did Donaghadee lose its importance as a seaport.
