The seaside resort Forty Foot is located on a rocky promontory near Sandycove and is probably the most popular bathing spot in southern Dublin Bay. Originally the use of the seaside resort was reserved for men. But nowadays there are no longer any restrictions. The current weather does not seem to impress anyone here either. Swimmers romp around in the water all year round.
In the immediate vicinity are the James Joyce Tower, an old Martello Tower, which serves as a museum, and the sandy beach Sandycove Beach.
